Fleece tested annually from a midside sample analysed by the New Zealand Wool Testing Authority on the Butt End Principle. 

TOFT ROBERTA is a well grown very attractive  young Modern Grey female out of TOFT RAMZAN (SDB)  and our Champion dark Fawn Male HERTS BIG BOPPER   She is exhibitiing a well organised very fine fleece with a long staple and a very soft handle. 

As you can see from her image above TOFT Roberta is already exhibiting a lot of white fibres in her fleece and we have no doubt that as she matures the white fibres will become more evident throughout her fleece. She is not showing any contrasting patches within her fleece which us why we classify her as a modern Grey.

We do not breed grey alpacas at TOFT Alpacas and as such Roberta is a bit of an anomaly for us, which is why we offer her for sale at an early age and a very reasonable price.

The Big Bopper has never really produced any grey alpacas until last season when he suddenly produced two TOFT Roberta and TOFT ENYA - as such TOFT Roberta is a very unique opportunity for a Grey breeder. TOFT Roberta's  grey nature would not be an advantage here at TOFT but would be of real benefit within a herd which specialises in breeding grey alpacas. Or to someone who wants to breed quality grey alpacas by taking advantage of some very superior genetics.
