THE TOFT ALPACA SHOP TAKES OFF
9/24/2009 12:00:00 AM
Kerry and the Toft Alpaca Shop just keeps getting busier. We are now producing so many natural coloured yarns it's hard for a non knitter like me to keep up. We must have processed about 3500kg of yarn already this year and we are still selling out faster than we can replace some of it.
Kerry has concentrated on the larger shows this year with the show trailer and it seems to be paying dividends.
The on Farm shop seems not to have suffered too much from the recession, thanks heavens for niche markets.
The Online service is getting busier by the day and it seems that once the knitters have tried our yarn they get addicted very quick.
Couple this with some interesting wholesale intitiatives and it would seem that our daughter is rapidly developing into a 'yarn tycoon' if there is such a thing. All we know is that like a cuckoo on speed she is rapidly filling our nest to bursting with boxes, bangles, needles and fleece adn ther are so many peole coming through our office we are thinking of installing turnstiles.
Long may it continue and if we can just get her to train her comedy dog, Harvey, to come back when we call, all would be well on the Manor.
